Historical Tour Package

Rutherford County is steeped in history and tradition. This package will be enjoyed by anyone who appreciates historical buildings, different style of architecture, and church buildings.

Robin S. Lattimore, award-winning author and president of the Rutherford County Historical Society, offers the following walking tour options in Rutherfordton.

Guided Tour of the Historic District and St. John's Historic Church.

(Available by appointment only for a minimum of two people.)

The tour generally takes an hour to an hour and 30 minutes and includes the Guide to Old Rutherfordton.

Option: Substitute a visit to St. Francis Episcopal Church instead of St. John's Church for an additional charge of $2 per person.

Guided Tour of St. Francis Episcopal Church, the Coxe family burial ground, and the Rutherfordton City Cemetery. (Available by appoinment only for a minimum of four participants.)

This tour generally takes 1 hour and 30 minutes. These tours are based on the church schedule and require advance notice to the church office. They are also subject to postponement should a conflict with a funeral or other unanticipated event occur.

Robin S. Lattimore is not reponsible for accidents of loss of property. Tour participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather (including sun hats and comfortable shoes) and to bring their own drinking water if desired.
